XLCC appoints Cable Factory Director to head new Scottish facility
Georgios will head operations at the HVDC cable facility in Hunterston, on the west coast of Scotland. He joins the company as XLCC grows to play an increasingly crucial role in the sustainable energy transition and become a key player in the subsea energy infrastructure market.
Georgios brings extensive managerial knowledge, including holding a Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt with further knowledge in Integrated Process Management (IPM). These skills were essential to Georgios’ role at Hellenic Cables, where he oversaw business transformation and ever-rising operational standards.
Georgios has a Master of Science in Advanced Manufacturing Systems & Management, as well as a Master of Business Administration.
Georgios Eleftheriadis, Cable Factory Director at XLCC, commented: “Cables have long been the backbone of our technology-enabled connected world, and they are playing an increasing role in the new era of net zero focused growth. Innovative and robust cable technology will be vital to distribute clean energy from areas of generation to areas of consumption. I am delighted to be joining XLCC as they look to open their new Hunterston facility and to engage the team in making a huge impact on the global industry.”
Ian Douglas, CEO at XLCC, said: “Georgios’ wealth of knowledge and experience in the sector will be very important in making XLCC a leader in the subsea HVDC cable industry. We are very privileged to have Georgios joining the team at such an important and exciting time as we look to break ground on our factory.”
