We are delighted to announce the following changes to senior staff at XLCC.

Most recently, he was CEO of Haventus, the US private equity-backed firm that acquired and brought the Port of Ardersier back to life to service the offshore wind industry.

Ian Douglas has decided to step down from his role as CEO. The future development of the installation and manufacturing business requires a longer time horizon than Ian can commit. Ian remains a significant shareholder in XLCC and will continue to act as a Non-Executive Director and Advisor.

Ragnhild Katteland, will become Chief Executive Officer designate. Ragnhild brings over 30 years of experience in the high-voltage subsea cable and energy sectors, having held senior leadership roles including CEO of Nexans Norway and Executive Vice President of Generation & Transmission BG at Nexans. She holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the Norwegian University of Technology in Trondheim.

Ragnhild will have in place a strong leadership team with Shaun Mercer will continue as Chief Financial Officer, the new role of EVP Technical and Manufacturing will be filled by Vegar Syrtveit Larsen and Trevor Nash will become the EVP of Corporate Development. The role of EVP Sales and Delivery will be filled by Bjørn Sanden. Malcolm Henchley will continue as General Counsel and Emma Burgess will continue as Senior HR Manager

Lewis said, “I would like to thank Ian for his contributions to the development of XLCC; he has put very solid foundations in place. I am very excited to join the company and delighted to appoint Ragnhild as our new CEO designate. She brings considerable experience of the high voltage cable sector. The coming year will see a change in approach from the Company, and I look forward to working with Ragnhild to deliver firstly a home grown high voltage cable installation business in Scotland based on outsourced cable manufacture with our partner NBO. This will be followed, in time, with an investment in a domestic high voltage cable manufacturing facility in Scotland securing the supply chain, bringing with it considerable inward investment and much needed jobs.”

Ragnhild said, “I am delighted to become CEO designate of XLCC at such a pivotal moment. I look forward to working with the team to build a world-class high voltage cable business in Scotland. XLCC will play a vital role in supporting the UK and European energy markets as they deliver their energy transition ambitions.”
